John Farmer (CRD#: 5354041) is an actively registered representative of Royal Alliance Associates. Since 2011, Mr. Farmer has worked as a broker and investment advisor based in Prescott, Arizona.
In March of 2018, an investigation was launched into allegations that Mr. Farmer improperly engaged in undisclosed outside business activities.
On November 15th, 2018, FINRA filed a complaint against broker John Farmer. Here, our investment fraud attorneys provide an overview of the allegations against this financial advisor.
FINRA Complaint: Royal Alliance Associates Representative John Farmer
FINRA’s Department of Enforcement alleges that John Farmer participated in unapproved, undisclosed outside business transactions for a period of at least five years. After being introduced to a precious metals seller by a fellow Royal Alliance Associates broker named Charles Taylor, FINRA believes that Mr. Farmer referred several investors to the outside individual.
Between 2011 and 2016, FINRA contends that John Farmer helped to facilitate the purchase of precious metals — away from his brokerage firm — for at least six different investors. This conduct is a violation of FINRA Rule 3270, which prohibits undisclosed, unapproved outside business activities.
In total, the agency believes that Mr. Farmer took in $4,663 in improper commissions and referral fees. FINRA is seeking conclusions of facts and law against this broker, and it requests all appropriate sanctions be imposed.
