Unsuitable Investment Recommendations

Under FINRA’s rules, registered investment advisors have a legal duty to ensure that they are only recommending and selling financial products that are reasonably suitable for the individual needs and objectives of their customers.

If a broker sells unsuitable financial products to a customer, and that customer suffers significant investment losses as a result, the broker can potentially be held financially liable for the customer’s damages.

Failure to Supervise a Securities Representative

In addition to the unsuitable investment claim, this same customer is also alleging that the brokerage firm, IBN Financial Services, failed to properly supervise securities representative Donald Lueke.
