Steven A., Cohen of Brookfied, Conn. Barred From Using Certified Financial Planner Mark

Steven-A.-Cohen-financial-plannerSteven A., Cohen of Brookfied, Conn., can no longer use the designation because he filed for personal bankruptcy in 1997 and 2018, the board said.  

Cohen had 24 years of experience as a financial planner with six firms, including MML Investors Services, J.P. Morgan Securities, MetLife Securities, MetLife Insurance Co., IFMG Securities, and David Lerner Associates.

Per FINRA regulations, a personal bankruptcy will usually not result in disbarment unless the individual most likely lied in their bankruptcy papers or hid assets from the court.
