Adam Michael Lopez (CRD#: 5562750) is a former registered broker. From 2008 to 2018, Mr. Lopez was employed at Country Capital Management Company in Springfield, Illinois.

In September of 2018, this broker was terminated by his member firm after allegations that he violated policies. Soon after, the Illinois Securities Department launched an investigation into allegations that Mr. Lopez used fraudulent and dishonest practices in selling variable annuities and fixed annuities.

Barred Broker: Adam Lopez Formerly of Country Capital Management

In December of 2018, Adam M. Lopez was barred from the securities industry for violating FINRA Rule 8210. Under this rule, all registered representatives who were terminated by their member firm following allegations of misconduct are required to cooperate with FINRA’s review of the case. As Mr. Lopez failed to provide documents, records, and testimony requested by the agency, he was barred.

Notably, since the fall of 2018, eight different investors have filed official complaints against former Country Capital Management broker Adam Lopez. These complaints are all related to investment losses sustained in variable annuities or fixed annuities. Consistency, the investors allege that Mr. Lopez never actually invested their money at all, but instead simply converted it. Thus far, five claims have been settled for the following amounts: $156,435.65, $32,299.58, $80,980.00, $44,369.14, $111,996.51. The other three claims are still pending.
