Jeffrey Adam Miller, Broker with UBS Financial Services, Facing Customer Dispute Alleging Unsuitable Concentration in Gold and Silver

INVESTORS: UBS Financial Services broker Jeffrey Adam Miller is facing a pending customer dispute alleging that he recommended an unsuitable concentration of gold and silver investments.

Jeffrey Adam Miller (CRD#: 4251936) is registered as a broker and investment adviser with UBS Financial Services, where he’s been employed since 2013. Previously, Miller was registered as a broker and investment adviser with Morgan Stanley from 2009 until 2013.

Miller has four disclosures on his BrokerCheck report. One customer dispute filed against Miller was denied.

July 2021 Customer Dispute

Status: Pending

Allegations: Time frame: June 2014 – June 2021 Allegations: Claimant, widower and former opera singer, alleges FA recommended unsuitable concentration in gold, gold mining and silver, the use of a credit line for liquidity, and purchasing a long-term disability care insurance policy, which ultimately lapsed. Claimant alleges the FA received a commission from the policy.

Damage Amount Requested: $1,000,000.00

June 2016 Customer Dispute

Status: Award / Judgment

Allegations: Claimant alleges, inter alia, that up until December 2013 the FA recommended investments that were unsuitable for the client’s goals.

Damage Amount Requested: $209,775.00

Broker Comment: I deny the allegations stated by the client and maintain that all investments recommended were suitable for the client based on the client’s circumstances and stated objectives at the time the recommendations were made.

November 2015 Customer Dispute

Status: Settled

Allegations: Time Frame: 2014-2015 Client’s Counsel alleges that the order to liquidate the client account was denied and not followed through until 6 months later.

Damage Amount Requested: $10,000.00

Settlement Amount: $10,000.00

Broker Comment: The deceased client’s executor’s request for liquidation of the client’s IRA was initially refused as it was incorrectly believed there was a non-estate beneficiary on the IRA, which would have negated executor’s authority to act. As a result, the liquidation order given was delayed.
